Spring Concert 2023
All three Nottingham Youth Orchestras plus Nottingham Youth Jazz Orchestra will be performing at Nottingham's Albert Hall on Sunday 26th March 2023.

Senior Orchestra

Saint-Saëns’ Symphony No.3 well known as the ‘Organ Symphony’ was composed in 1886 when Saint-Saëns’ was at the height of his career as a composer and famous organist. A wonderful opportunity to hear the magnificent Binns Organ, as well as piano scored for both two and four hands, as part of this melodic symphony with some grand and majestic passages.
Les Animaux Modèles is a ballet by Francis Poulenc based on Jean de La Fontaine’s Fables. It was written during the German occupation of France in the Second World War between 1940 and 1942. The suite contains extracts from the ballet.

The Intermediate Orchestra begin their section of the concert with the slow romance of Albéniz's Tango in D through to the wizarding world of Harry Potter and finishing in high spirits with the infectious rhythm and energy of Capriccio Italien.

Training Orchestra

The Training Orchestra bring you the Surprise Symphony (listen out for the sudden loud chord near the beginning). They continue with a varied programme of music to suit all ages, finishing with the bold and vigorous Clash and Roar!
