NYO 1st Violins

Claire is an established violin teacher and performs with many local orchestra and choral groups.

She started playing the violin at age six and it has never left her side since! She went on to study music at university, gaining a B.Mus (Hons). Her career has always been dedicated to guiding young people in their musical journey, as well as following her own.

During her time with the Nottingham Youth Orchestra, Claire has tutored all three orchestras, encouraging and supporting students through the orchestral development process. She tries to balance a sense of fun, with a building of confidence, teamwork, and awareness of orchestral performance.

“It is so satisfying and exciting to see these young people develop their skills. There have been some remarkable performances and it never fails to move me when I sit in the audience and listen. I am so very proud of their achievements.”
