Elizabeth Bratton

Trustee

Elizabeth Bratton is a student of Modern and Medieval Languages at King's College, Cambridge. At the end of her first year, she became a Scholar of the College, and more recently won a King's Music Scholarship which she feels is a tribute to how effectively Nottingham Youth Orchestra nurtured her love of music.

As a former leader of NYO, Elizabeth is delighted to remain involved with the orchestra. She has many happy memories of almost a decade of weekly Thursday rehearsals, the excitement of concerts and the fun of residentials and summer European tours.

After joining the Training Orchestra at the age of 9, she moved through, and led, all 3 orchestras. She was awarded the NYO Needham Scholarship in her last year, which gave her the fantastic opportunity to play the Bruch Violin Concerto with the Senior Orchestra.

Elizabeth now plays in two Cambridge orchestras, leads her own student quartet, and takes part in a variety of other musical events, including playing in the pit for Cambridge Footlights productions.
