Karen Wallace

After attending music college in London, studying Clarinet with David Campbell and Linda Merrick, Karen started her career as a peripatetic woodwind teacher for Oxfordshire County Music Service.

For 12 years Karen worked in education, at both national and local Government level, primarily focussing on post 16, SEND and commissioning. She returned to the music sector working for a nationally recognised specialist woodwind and brass retailer, as Campaign and Education Manager. Karen was also UK Manager for the Class Band programme working with Yamaha Music Europe.

Karen joined Buckinghamshire Music Trust and took over the role Area Leader at Amersham Music Centre in 2018. She also performs regularly as a pit orchestra musician, specialising in clarinet, saxophone and flute.

Currently she is Operational Lead at the Centre for Young Musicians, part of Guildhall Young Artists, combining this with the role of General Manager for NYO.
