Merri Knight

Merri grew up and studied violin in America where she gained a Bachelor of Music at Hartt College, Hartford University, Connecticut. She auditioned and gained a place in the Albany Symphony Orchestra, but instead took an opportunity to come to England, securing a violin teaching post in Bedford and playing in orchestras, chamber groups and string quartets.

She then moved to Nottingham where she has been in demand as a performer and teacher of violin and viola. She particularly enjoys seeing many of the NYTO children eventually make it into the senior NYO.
