Wendy was until very recently senior orchestra's Woodwind Tutor and remains a Director for NYO.

Wendy relishes her role in developing the highest level of playing experiences for young musicians. She is veteran of many NYO tours where getting to know members over a 26 hour coach journey has always been a highlight!

Having studied Music at Exeter University, postgraduate studies focused on a more holistic approach to making music. As an active performer and teacher Wendy specialises in Oboe and Cor Anglais and can be heard playing with the Nottingham Philharmonic Orchestra and ensembles throughout the East Midlands. She is also part of an artistic collaboration bringing together improvisation, dance and painting and has performed at weird and wonderful venues throughout Germany.

When not performing or teaching, Wendy is a specialist Deep Tissue Massage Therapist working with musicians to help them perform at the peak of their abilities. She enjoys hiking and climbing and likes nothing more than escaping into the wild with her tent!

“Youth Orchestra is such a special place, somewhere you can meet like-minded people and make friends for life (yes really, I even married the clarinettist from mine!)”
