NYO/NYJO Alumni REUNION EVENT - Sat 28th November
Here are details of both NYO’s 40th Anniversary Celebration Concert and, with past players in mind, the Alumni Reunion Reception! Both are happening on the same day in the centre of Nottingham. We really hope you’ll be able to join us and you’d like to contact your NYO contemporaries to bring together as many of your friends as possible.

The event will take place in the Architect’s Attic on the second floor.
Whether you were part of the orchestra a few years ago or several decades ago, we'd love you to join us for an afternoon of catching up, sharing memories and celebrating the rich history of Nottingham Youth Orchestra.
This informal reunion takes place ahead of our 40th Anniversary Concert at the Royal Concert Hall, giving alumni the chance to reconnect before enjoying the evening's celebrations.

As part of the 40th Anniversary TRCH concert we are trying to get in touch with our past players as we would love to hear from everyone. As you can imagine this is quite a hard feat after four decades of students through NYOs' orchestras. You can really help us by passing on the survey link (below) to any NYO friends that you are still in touch with as soon as you can.

The majority of the information you submit will be used anonymously in the printed 40th Anniversary programme to our big concert at Nottingham's Royal Concert Hall on 28th Nov 2026. The only time your name (plus instrument & NYO membership dates) would appear is alongside your answer to the question “What did being a member of NYO mean to you?” The other data will be shown collectively (e.g. types of work/career alumni have had.)
The information you share with us will be of interest to our concert audience and also important for us in our efforts to recruit new members. In a world of increasing demands on youngsters’ time and parents’ money we would love to share the benefits of NYO membership (mood & confidence boosting, friendships, obviously the music). So your answer to what NYO meant to you is important to us so that we can continue to get things right or strive to improve.
We really appreciate your time with the above - the beneficiaries will be a new generation of wonderful musical youngsters.

Finally we don’t enjoy asking, but as an independent charity organisation, i.e. one that is not supported by local or state funding, we are dependent upon subscriptions and voluntary donations for our activities.
