NYO members perform with NYOGB in an inspirational start to 2024!
Intrepid members of Nottingham Youth Orchestra played alongside musicians of The National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain on 5th January in a side-by-side afternoon rehearsal at The Royal Concert Hall.
Our NYO students played Smetana's Vltava (The Moldau) which NYOGB later performed in their evening programme which also included Strauss's epic Alpine Symphony and the world premiere of Dani Howard's Ascent which featured amazing brass and percussion playing.
Nottingham Youth Orchestra had a group of nearly 200 in the audience for NYOGB's evening concert and had further reason to applaud loudly as two of our Senior orchestra musicians are members of NYOGB 24. It was exhilarating to see them on stage performing under the baton of Sir Mark Elder. Very well done Clarice (clarinet) and Kylia (harp).
