Nottingham Youth Jazz Orchestra at Southwell Music Festival Fringe

"A really fabulous sound - great to watch emerging talent"...

Members of NYJO got the Fringe events of this year's Southwell Music Festival off to an exciting start. The exceptionally windy weather caused a last minute change of plan and Southwell Library accommodated NYJO and its enthusiastic audience at very little notice.

The NYJO Combo group performed 2 sets of jazz standards and excellent arrangements of pop repertoire which showcased the talented individuals (horn section: flute, sax, trumpet, trombone; rhythm section keyboard, electric and bass guitars, drums) and included an audience favourite 'Autumn Leaves'.

One audience member commented on the Southwell Music Festival social media "A really fabulous sound - still buzzing from the first half - great to watch emerging talent under the watchful eye and guiding hands of the conductor." Well done everyone - you have got the Bank Holiday weekend off to a great start.
